7-mode/HA pair/V-Series : Configuration : Local Users and Groups : Users : Configuring Local Users : Creating a local user

Creating a local user
You can create a local user and assign that user to one or more predefined groups, giving that user the roles and capabilities associated with those groups.
Steps
1.
From the Home tab, double-click the appropriate storage system to display a subtree of management features.
2.
Click Configuration > Local Users and Groups > Users.
3.
Click Create to display the New User dialog box.
4.
Type the login name for the new user.
User names are case-insensitive. This means that you cannot create a user named "fred" if you already have a user named "Fred." You can have a maximum of 96 administrative users on a storage system.
5.
Type the full name of the user.
This information is optional.
6.
Type a description that helps you identify this new user.
This information is optional.
7.
Type the password that the user uses to connect to the server, then reenter the password to confirm the password.
8.
Select the group type that best suits the access level this user needs, then click Add.
